Recently, I have been enjoying smoothies as a lunch. They are quick and easy to prepare. It is best to make them yourself, because you will know what ingredients you use and can adjust the sweetness and flavours as required.
You can make your smoothies in the morning, and then take them to work with you in a flask.
Add superfoods or green powders to your smoothies for a nutritious boost. You will get extra vitamins and minerals this way. Smoothies can be a great way to help people meet their daily fruit and vegetable quota.
I used to drink this green smoothie as my lunch, but I changed the recipe and added some proteins powders because I have been exercising more recently but also due to previous calorie-counting experience that revealed I was not getting enough protein in my diet.
If you do not like bananas, you can use other fruits, such as dates, pear, mango, or peach. Bananas are good for me because they contain potassium and magnesium. These minerals can help prevent muscle cramps during and after workouts.
If you’re looking for a protein supplement to add to your smoothie, choose something that has a short list of ingredients. Brown rice protein or pea protein are good options.
This combination of brown rice and pea proteins is vegan, and a good alternative to animal-derived powders like whey.

I haven’t felt hungry in at least three hours, and I’m not tempted to snack between meals. It’s great that I can eat less calories in a day, and this helps me lose weight over time.

High-protein banana blueberry smoothie [vegan]
Vegan smoothie high in protein, great for weight loss.
- 1 medium size banana
- A handful of blueberries
- Supergreens powder (I used Lean Greens)
- 15 g Brown Rice Protein Powder Half a Scoop
- 15 g Pea Protein Powder Half a Scoop
- 0.5 tsp raw cacao powder
- 1 tbsp of psyllium powder
- 200 ml of almond milk
- 100 ml of water
- Add a banana and a handful of berries to the blender.
- Add the protein powders to the other ingredients.
- Blend until smooth. Add more liquid to taste if needed.
